
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. In the months following her graduation in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley and playing for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan, then 22 years young, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. She scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
