
Kate Hudson has a talent as an actor. Her most famous role is for her role of Penny Lane from the Hollywood film Almost Famous. Her nomination for the Academy Award was her best-known role. Born into a film family, Hudson was destined to make waves from a young age. Her mother Goldie Hawn was a film actor and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. She was a performer since she was a child and would jump at any opportunity to dance or sing on stage. When she was a kid her parents offered dance lessons and she trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse. Her first acting experience came when she was offered a guest role on the TV drama Party of Five in 1996. The show was a success and she was admitted to New York University, but Kate Hudson was more interested in getting into show business instead of pursuing a degree. After appearing in a couple of minor films, she landed the role that was to prove to be a major breakthrough in her career. She was chosen to play Penny Lane in the comedy-drama film Almost Famous. Although the film failed at the box office , it was well received by the critics and made Kate a star in the American film industry.
