She has covered sports for some of some of the most prominent media across the globe. It was a long time at The Washington Post covering football basketball, soccer, numerous Olympics and Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year period working for ESPN and appeared on some of its most watched shows like NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, moved to ESPN after 2004. Her Monday Night Football coverage as an official reporter was a an integral part of her job at the network. After she left ESPN, her next station was CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. A billion viewers viewed the show worldwide. Nichols was also a reporter for TNT for NBA broadcasts during the playoffs and broadcasts for the All-Star game. Nichols has also been employed by TBS reporting as an anchor covering baseball and golf coverage. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. It was the only occasion in the award's 42 year history that a woman was selected from the over 200 nominations.
